What was the most memorable game for you? What game do you still play to this day, or wish you had kept?
For me it was an old DOS based game called "Scorched Earth" So simple, and soooooo addictive...man, I miss that game... I think I will go look for it now. Oh, and also Mike Tyson's Punch out!

Ahhh the memories...

I wish I still had "Sam & Max Hit the Road". I have no idea where the disc went, but every couple of months, I would pull it out and go through the game in one sitting. It was that good.

System Shock.

System Shock was so far ahead of it's time, that it did things right in 1994 that people still get wrong today.

And, of course, SHODAN owns every other game villain. Ever. Including Irenicus.

I still have my Amiga in perfect working order, along with 200 games for her.

However the one game i miss is an old game for the Mega Drive/Genesis system. It was called Shadow Run and was based on the RPG and books of the same name. It was such an awsome game but i broke the US-UK converter that the cartrige pluged into and i can't play it no more. Pity. If it where to be remade on the PC it's be an MORPG(sp) that'd end Everquest and Ultima.

Angband. I played it when I was a kid, and its lineage goes back to before I was born. Just today I started up a dwarf priest character and got him up to level 12.

He was good, and David Warner did an excellent job with his voice, but SHODAN was a constant presence throughout the game, and enhanced the general feeling of powerlessness you got from Shock, where almost everything you met was bigger, stronger, and faster than you.

Irenicus wanted to become a God. To all intents and purposes, SHODAN already was.

How could I have forgotten the ever-enduring Degenatron! One of the first machines I ever played a video game on. :)

I still pull out the first two Monkey Island games from time to time. I played through the third and fourth ones once each, and while they were alright, I don't consider them to be "canon." Elaine Marley was not in love with Guybrush Threepwood at the end of the second game, and LeChuck only wanted to marry Elaine as a part of a much grander scheme that was never fully revealed. He wasn't just some love-sick buffoon.

:D Still have the old NES cart, and it works. I've beaten the whole game through once.

I like one of the old, rather obscure NES carts called Xenophobe. It was a gift from a cousin whose NES broke, and I never got the rule book for it. Still works.

I still think back to the day I first sat down to play the original Civilization. I couldn't stop for freaking HOURS. I mean I would literally wake up early to get an extra hour in playing before school.

I played Civilization at a coworkers house one night after work. I dont remember how or why he bought it, I think we just saw it at the store. Anyway, I remember playing it way into the the night and the two of us bickering over how to run the county when we barely understood the mechanics of the game.

Tie Fighter. Man, I must have played through the campaign mode on that game a gazillion times. I'm not even a flight sim fan, but this game was true bliss.

Other noteworthy titles are: X-com UFO Defense, Master of Orion I/II, Civilization and Wing Commander.

Honestly though...Shodan didn't manage to piss you off to the extent that Irenicus did...with Shodan...the only real reason to fight against her was because she was a little genocidal...Jon was different....you really relly wanted to take him down because he was just a plain great asshole.

It's SHODAN, infidels. Do not sully her beautiful perfect name by putting any of it's glorious, perfect letters in lower-case. Lest she unleash her magnificent cybernetic servants on you.

(Cyborg Assassins start coming out of nowhere).
