Kernel 2.6...some help

I recently attempted to get Kernel 2.6 running my Fedora 0.95 box (successor to RH9). The compile worked, as did the new modutils and a few other things, but when I attempted to boot into it, well, the entire thing barfed.

Firstly, it didn't recognize the labels in fstab, so I had to say "root=/dev/hda2". Not too much of a major issue. Then when it attempted to load service, scores of error messages appeared with things like "read-only mode" for /var/whatever.

Help ?

I tried again, and this time the system boots, which is good. However, PCMCIA doesn't work anymore.

Sorry, don't have a notebook, so can't help you on PCMCIA. Try emailing

For the read only problem, maybe a logging daemon is trying to write before / is remounted as read-write. Need to move init scripts around. What are you trying to get working with PCMCIA, out of curiosity?

Bah. I got PCMCIA to work after much futzing around, but my wireless card refuses to associate with the AP now. The wired ethernet card works, though.

Unfortunately, Mozilla doesn't seem to be accepting keyboard input. I might wait until Fedora Core has a native 2.6 kernel and then I'll do a clean install.
