Okay no BSOD but as usual it started it's crummy service and added some crap in autostart.

Removed da stuff and it seems to work fine.

I'd like to know that, too. Could someone confirm this?

Does it give anything major to be worth upgrading to?

Nothing in the list looked like "must get" upgrades unless you are a GeForce FX user. This was supposed to be the driver set that would make pixel shading not completely suck under the FX series (which really hurt its performance under DX9), but as I have a Ti4600, it's not applicable to me. Anyone with an FX care to give these a try?

Same...

I've alot of dvd's and It fucking pisses me off that I've paid for something that I cannot watch or view because of this macrovision shite. Legally it's mine...and can do what the fuck I like with it...yet I cannot do what it's intended to and watch it?..

meh.

It is major.

Geforce FX cards seem to be better competitors with their Radeon counterparts on it, and IIRC, it has some new desktop management features and resolutions.

The new drivers have sharpness settings for FX cards. I only have a GeForce4mx, though.

Still have the same problem, after installing these new drivers, my
board keeps heating up and up and up and up...

Tried them...and quite frankly...I've never had so much slow down in games before in my life...even on the rig intensive games. hell..IWD2 which ran absolutely perfect on the old drivers, would not even move without stuttering for about 5 seconds before it moved again...at which point it stuttered again...ad infinitum....

I don't know what they've done to them, but that's an old style ati- grade fuckup...anyone else having problems?

With the new drivers, since 44.02, the temperature on the damn cards keeps
rising and rising even when doing nothing at all

Just tried them yesterday. A big blue screen of death and automatic reboot in XP... I had to boot in safe mode to uninstall it (and safe mode in XP is awful, you can't even move the mouse pointer, but it's there anyway to fuck you every time you try to do something with the start menu)

What? Safe mode on XP lets me use the mouse just fine.

Well, mine is always disabled in XP and I dunno why. But the arrow is still on screen, centered and interfering with things.

I'm on a a geforce fx 5600 256mb...

all i can say is that these drivers make some of the games that weren't running well... run well...

especially max payne 2... which im running on full specs at the moment, i only have 256mb system ram.

i haven't had any side effects other than increased performance.
