Watch more porn, either that or send me your computer. Get a copy of "Where the Boys Aren't" and whack off to the lesbian goodness. Do it right and you won't have the energy or co-ordination left to play games.

When you catch yourself playing, cut off a segment of one of your fingers at the joint.

That'll learn ya. ;)

Are you saying that this game is more important to you than hot naked chicks and sex? If so, I suggest punching yourself in the nuts. That'll teach you to associate severe groin pain with Rebel Strike.

Didn't this game just come out?

Come off it. There's a huge difference between being actually "addicted" and the initial thrill one gets when you get a new game. Let me know if you're still "addicted" a year from now.

Let me ask a few questions concerning this so called addiction:

How long has this new release been in your possession?
How many hours per day on average have you been playing it?
Is playing this game more importent to you than making sure that you eat everyday?
Is playing this game more importent to you than bathing regularly?
Is playing this game more importent to you than puting on a fresh change of clothes every day?
Is playing this game more importent to you than sleeping?
Is playing this game more importent to you than attending class?
Is playing this game more importent to you than getting your homework done?
Is playing this game more importent to you than going to work?

If not, you do not have an addiction. You're just excited about playing a brand-new game.

Two weekends ago I downloaded a genealogy/family tree programme, then stayed up all night as I spent a significant portion of two days playing around with it. Now I just use and play with it on a controlled basis when I feel like it. This is pretty much the same as that.

Format your harddrive and smash the CD that should cure you.

Instead of <blank>: my anti drug, you could say

Lesbian Chicks:My anti-gaming.

"My anti-drug is hardcore lesbian pornography." Wow, that would be the first anti-drug commercial that didn't suck since that strung-out chick smashed her entire kitchen with a frying pan.

Tell yourself that you'll only play it for so long each day, thinking that if you play it too much, you'll get bored of it faster. It's not like there will be withdrawl symptoms other than perhaps an urge to play it at school/work.

Pfft...I got it...two days later...opened up most of everything.

Sorry the game is fun but once you get over the intial craze it's not much...watch lesbian porn, much more enjoyable.

The only way to deal with this addiction is to yield to it. :P

You're not addicted until you do nothing but play the game. Since you're posting on this board, you're not fully "addicted".

Speaking of that, I just thought of something for a commercial:

(Mafia guy walks up to camera)

"Hey, you, I got something to tell ya! Let's say this guy over hear is your brain!"

(Mafia guy beats up other guy with a baseball bat, and then shoots him)

"This is your brain on drugs."

Play X-Wing and its sequels, and realize how much the Rogue Suadron games suck in comparason.

Also the frequent "Look how much fun I'm having playing games!" posts by not participants would be distinctly unhelpful. Besides, we'd all fall of the wagon the day Half Life 2 is released anyway.
