Here's a place for people to review Final Fantasy 11. I'm pretty interested in it...as I love the franchise...but I'm kinda tied up in Star Wars Galaxies at the moment. If you've played FFXI, or know someone who has, please tell your story for all to hear! :)

World passes alone can make it pretty shitty.

I played a bit of the import off of a friend's...and honestly it's FF5/FFT with much better graphics and things to do.

But my biggest problem are it forces you into a team play after a certain point(not bad, but not my cup of tea) and the World passes and RANDOM server start make me sorta go...pass.

I want to use a friends copy just so I can make a character that looks like me, and take a screenshot of it. :P

Me's got it. I like it just fine. Once I manage to hook up with some friends from the pyoko boards, it'll be even better.

I can't play it yet because it's taking an hour to download a patch over cable...

Ok, now that I've played it more, I can give some kind of report.

First, it's definitely recognizable as a Final Fantasy game. Not only because of things like crystals and chocobos, but by the graphic style and gameplay as well.

The fighting system is menu based, you give orders to attack and your guy does so automatically. While in the attack mode you can give additional commands such as to use special skills or spells.

Interaction with others is handled very well. It is easy to communicate with others, and it is never hard to find people you can ally with and go out to kill things together. Everyone I have encountered so far has been really nice to eachother, aiding people whenever they need it.

As you play this game you can see that it's very Japanese in its design. A lot different from most RPGs on the PC now. This might be strange to American players, and I think it's probably the reason some people are decrying the game.
