Diablo2 is so messed up right now (1.10 bugs)

Townkill is back from D1, but now in a different form. Assassins can kill you in town via a method that I won't reveal here. This came out from fucking nowhere and by now hundreds of HC ladder characters have kicked the bucket due to this.
Nightmare ancients are a death trap. They are bugged. From what I understand, if an ancient in nightmare is fire enchanted, they will appear to stand still, but they really aren't. If you get hit once, no matter how much resist, absorb, damage reduction, or life you have, you WILL die. Talic (the whirlwind baba) is the biggest perpetrator, because IIRC he ALWAYS spawns fire enchanted in that difficulty. Every single character on hardcore or HC ladder that has gotten to act5 nm has seen at least a few people die from this crap. Some of my online buddies have lost high levels this way.
Blizzard had over a year to mess with the patch, and several months of beta testing. Yet they did not catch huge bugs that frankly would be impossible to miss. Their quality assurance team must be on hard drugs.

If Blizzard's past record is any indication, there'll be a v1.101 patch out pretty soon.

In another few months?
I got a bug where there were invincible sand crawlers (Norm, Act II). After they died while being frozen, they'd come back with a sliver of health, but were invulnerable to everything (Spells, attacks, auras)
I checked on their forums, and saw it mentioned by another person who plays on Europe. I made a post, but no responses...

I am so glad I quit.
BTW I heard before in 09 that there was a bug in which killing the ancients gave you penalties while lvling? Is it true? If it is, has it been resolved?~Jason

No bug. The ancients gave a set amount of EXP if you are in the lvl requirement, which was all the way up to 60 in hell. Therefore you would gain more levels if you did hell ancients at 60 rather than doing it later, which may not have even yielded a full level.
edit: However, if you wanted to hit 99 without whoring in cows for 3 weeks as lvl 98, you could save hell ancients until then. You would get the set EXP (which is not affected by clvl/mlvl penalties) and hit 99 easier.

Suckers. Looks like Blizzard hired a bunch of developers from the Galaxies team, which would explain why the latter has improved significantly.

Diablo2 wasn't nearly as entertaining as Starcraft or D1 was. I know I got my money's worth though.
I didn't go into Warcraft3 or the expansion because every single patch they release brings some new element of cheese into the game.

I thought they got offloaded onto other projects. Since there reportedly been
one person working on & off on the v1.10 patch

During and immediately after the beta they had playtesters who were supposedly on it day and night.
People are still buying the damn game so the Blizzard apologists can't say it doesn't constitute enough of a business to work on.

Was there an old way, where they're shadow duplicate could kill you? I had a sorc and I could do nothing to do but it could kill me? I really picked the wrong abilities, I maxed frozen orb, which doesn't do that much damage, as opposed to meteor with max fire mastery, I maxed warmth which I'm not sure I regret, I never need mana potions, but I could have used it to max some lightning skill with lightning mastery.
