Republic: The Revolution - Gold or Crap

This looks like a cool game to get, but I'm not sure. Anyone play it and can give me the lowdown on whether its worth paying my hard earned money on.

Crap crap crap. It looked great, but you spend about 70% of the game doing NOTHING (even at the highest speed setting) and the conversation game that takes up most of your actions (especially in the early part) is horrible crap that plays exactly the same way every time. Don't bother.

Its a good game. Don't miss that part of it. But it is slow, laborious and REALLY REALLY REALLY in depth. It also has a learning curve similar to being dropped in an Apache blindfolded and told to fly a combat mission.

I generally play when I have something else to do, like read a book, or watch TV. Start your actions, do something else until they resolve or you get an interrupt. Continue...

Don't play this game if you don't want to spend a lot of time in the details.
