Looks like the game will take place in the world of Final Fantasy Tactics; very cool. This is a new trend for Square, revisiting existing worlds; first there was FFX-2, then Advent Children, now this.

Not only that, but it's a first: A full-fledged mainline game set in a previous game's setting.
It's the series' first true sequel.

It's the same Ivalice?
I know they are using the FFTA world...but that's the same as FFT?
Weird...still it does have a good background and would like to see it explored more(though funny they consider Ivalice of Bangaa's, Viera, and Humans the same as the Ivalice of FFT)

He means Final Fantasy 12, not 10-2
addendum:
I have X-2 and I hate to admit it but its Fun, Getting Sriously addictive the way the game plays.
There are also a lot of nods and winks to other FF games, and there arepeople on this board who will be pleased to know that there is a "Black Mage" option for each of the three characters, what it does I will not say for now

It could also mean their creative juices are running dry.

Yes, and so do I. I don't personally consider X-2 to be a full-fledged game that's part of the main line, but more of a side story game.

I wonder what complaint the whiners will make now, since FF is now going to have some true sequels.

I agree, to be honest. I have the game, I like it alot, but I think the name "Final Fantasy X Gaiden" or something like that would have been more suitable to what it is.

Someone whined
Two of Square's best composers are teaming up for this one, it should rock
If they threw Shimomura in along with them, I would cream my shorts

Someone whined
The people who constantly complain that the FF series has no continuity.

I would have a problem if FFXII took place in the world of Spira or another past world, because I like the idea of each game in the original series having its own world. However, since there is no game in the main series that takes place in Ivalice, I don't really have a problem with this, in fact, I think it's a good idea.

Holy fuck, if the graphics for FFXII look like that in game, I will shit myself. The architecture is simply beautiful, and those airship thingies are incredible. Damn you squaresoft, you money stealing bastards, I love you so much!

SquareEnix, you mean. SquareSoft no longer exists as an entity.
