Which game do you personally anticipate the most? For me, the games are Cossacks 2 and LotR: Battle for Middle Earth.

Have a very nice day.

Rome: Total War

http://www.totalwar.com/community/rp10.htm

You know from the moment it comes out people are going to start working on a Middle Earth Total Conversion mod, and it will fucking ROCK.

Compared to Cossacks 2 it's nothing. 64000 units in glorious 3-d is teh uber!

Have a very nice day.

Looks like your "Glorious 3d" is about as good as Medieval and Shogun's tech, only you're using sharper sprites.

Medieval allready has a half way middle earth mod.

your right, Rome Total War it is, but only for another year.

For the next few months? Deus ex 2, and MAYBE half life 2

Cossacks 2 looks pathetic compared to Shogun and Medieval, let alone Rome.

You speak heresy!

:)

But for me, either Half-Life 2, Deus Ex: IW, (hopefully with certain flaws corrected) and Starcraft 2 (if it's ever announced).

Starcraft2, if there is ever going to be one.

Hardly. Valve doesn't give a rats ass about the X-Box and how the hell can you get an X-Box port when they game was custom built for the PC?

As for as I know there are similarities between Windows and X-Box. While I have not yet programmed for the X-Box I do know the Visual C++ compiler can compile programs for the X-Box. That would suggest a port is possible.

Rome: Total War. The first Cossacks was too ludicrously difficult to make me want to buy the second one.

A port, yes, but AFAIK Valve isn't going to leave the modding community in the dust just so they can suck Microsoft's cock. The whole point of the Source engine was to make it easy to make modifications for HL2...

Hmmm....I have severe reservations about both of those games. I'm more interested in X2 than Deus Ex 2, to be honest. The demo did not impress me that much.

Deus Ex 2, but the demo did piss on my parade a little. Hopefully the full game will be better.

Microsoft won't allow mods on the Xbox if I get what you're saying. People have to pay license fees for Xbox dev tools and there is no way in hell that MS is going to open it up to modding. Console manufacturers make their money off game sales, they don't WANT people to get too much playtime out of a single game.

No, I didn't miss that, but frankly the difference between 10,000 and 64,000 is minor, especially when you consider the vast difference of quality between the two, and the fact that Rome has scaled cities to fight in, seige weapons, dogs, elephants, and cavalry, and will be designed with modding in mind. Then there's the new point to point map system, rather than the old province-style maps.

And, well, let's face it. Rome: Total War lends itself to a Middle Earth Total Conversion better than Cossacks does.

64,000 sprites versus 10,000 glorious 3D models. :P
