Short summary, Windows 98 will no longer be made available for developers. For that matter, Office 2000 is also getting the axe.

Bah. It's funny looking on MSDN and seeing downloads of MSDOS readily available.

I think MS only sees this as a good opportunity to kill Win98, so that they could force through thier new OS.

No, they're doing this to comply with a court order. Windows 98 included the MS JVM.

If you have access to MSDN, you'd see all kinds of ancient stuff on there, like Windows 3.1 ...

I don't know, he may actaully mean himself. I think the number of computers that could use him as an OS would be limited but i bet he wouldn't make a good one.
