Hope for Fallout 3?

From what I was able to discover, Fallout 3 is dead, but not yet doomed. Although the chance of revival seems slim (we all know that these petitions have about as much effect as a note passed in study hall), there is talk that "the old Black Isle guys are trying to rally up and obtain the license for themselves. The idea is to get the license and probably the engine, then finish the game themselves. Evidently the reporter from this site have talked to someone from the Bis team and got this info from him."

As well, a German company called "Silver Style" might want to buy the license, but they have doubts that the Fans would buy a game that is not made by Black Isle. Forum-goers were suggesting that people 'encourage' them at their forum.

So...apparently there's still a slim, distant hope. I don't see why the dying Interplay wouldn't want to sell the license to a third party. It's not like they have any good reason to take it to their graves.

Unless they're planning to make Fallout: The RTS or Fallout: Street Fighting Edition or Fallout First Person Shooter or even Fallout: The Flight Simulator.

There's always hope. All they need is someone to make the right offer.

On the other hand, the only reason Interplay wouldn't sell the rights would be if they thought that they could make money off of it in the future... which would mean that THEY might try resurrecting it. Or it could mean that they're idiots.

Get them jobs at Ion Storm.

Imagine, the minds of Fallout and Deus Ex, combined...

Deus Ex and Fallout are at total opposite ends of the spectrum.

No thanks.
