Throwing Things in "Splinter Cell"

How do you throw objects, like bottles and cans in the PC version of Splinter Cell? At best, all I can make this guy do is drop stuff. I've never seen the "recticle" the docs talk about when he's holding an object.

Damn I know I've done it, but I haven't played Splinter Cell in months ... I'll just have to tide you over with an "its possible" until I remember how ...

You have to press "Use" (default's 'E' I think). Then the reticle will appear.

A word of advice: you can use bottles to knock people out at a distance

I'm definately going to buy Splinter Cell soon... I'm thinking I'll return that X-Box FotR game I got as an early Christmas gift for it.
