Basically the ones that have a defective cache are sold with 512kb of the good cache left enabled for ~250$ AMD 64 3000+
According to this though, you should wait for the socket 939s to lower in price, since the 754 appears to be a upgrade dead end.
Note- I know next to nothing about the latest developments in computer hardware.
