Lock On

Post by Tolya »

Damn, I just got Lock On Modern Air Combat and I fuckin' can't play it, because of system incompatibility. The game says explicitly "Win98 capable" but this is just a load of bullshit. I've read through the forums on Ubi's website and the only thing I can do now is wait...

Fuckers released the game early to make some dough off the christmas sales...but only XP/2000 users can fucking play it...grrr, makes me mad.

And the worse thing is that XP causes problems with my modem...therefore I can't use it until someone writes NT drivers for HiS terminals...

Goddamnit!

Yeah, the dev knew full-well that Win98 would suck under Lomac. But they chose to go ahead to get those Christmas sales.

The latest info about the next patch has this under the things they fixed:
"Fixed several bugs for Win98/ME (white screen, low memory etc.)"

So hopefully it'll reduce the problems under Win98 to a more manageable level.

You should get WinXP. But waiting for the patch is a good idea regardless, it's an excellent, beautiful game, but with some annoying bugs, both performance related and not (e.g. the MiG-29 9.12/9.13S ammo drum is only 100 rounds, when it should be 150).

I had XP. Nice system, but I had to get back to windows 98SE (which frankly sucks ass, is obsolete and causes me 10x more problems than XP)

Im waiting for the patch.
