I fucking hate Sony!

My laptop just died on me, again. This time it's saying that it can't find the fucking harddrive! ARGH!

You could open it up and check the drive to make sure the power and IDE plugs didn't come undone. 9/10, that is the problem when you can't find the drive.

It's been sitting on my desk for the past couple weeks. And I don't have a screwdriver, so I can't anyways.

Isn't there a release mechanism to allow the keyboard to rise up and allow you access to the innards?

Depends on the sony model. Most of them make getting to the hard drive a royal pain in the ass. ( Im assuming this is a laptop. )

I still fucking hate Sony, but my laptop is working again. I guess the old adage of how to fix a computer problem is still valid. Turn it off, walk around it, turn it back on.

Now is a good time to back up any important files.

That would imply that I had important files. Anyway, it seems to be working perfectly now. Guess my next computer will be waiting for a while longer.

Definitely sounds like you have a loose connection in there.

Odd... considering that I hadn't even touched my computer between posting the thread, and having my computer start up when I hit the power button a couple days later.
