Kazaa lite (previously Need Help yaddy yaddy ya..)

Post by Dorsk 81 »

Ok, those of you who keep a keen eye on the GaC forum know I ordered a new PC a week or so ago, well it has just arrived.

Now I need to know how to transfer programs, MP3s and files in general from this (the old comp) to the new comp. This comp doesn't have a CD re-writter or I'd taken that option and floppy is waaaaaay to small, so...how do I do it?
Help required ASAP!

PS: If this would be easier to do via IM, my addys and usernames are below.

If the new computer already has an operating system on it, then network the two computers. Share your files on the old computer. Browse to it from the new computer, and simple copy/paste whatever files you want to transfer.

If you or your friends don't have a hub or switch with which to network them, you could go buy a crossover cable. Or you could buy a hub or switch and start hosting LAN parties for your friends.

kazaalite is a non downloadable entity, although, you may be able to get it from bittorrent, they technically aren't hosting it...

if both computers have USB drives you could always just buy a USB storage key. they run anywhere from $25.00 for the cheap models up to $128.00 for the expensive ones, but they're a great way of transferring large files between PCs. the sizes vary anywhere from 16 to 512 megs, depending on the company and models.

You could install the old hard drive temporarily. That is, open the computer, disconnect your CD-ROM or other IDE device and hook up the old hard drive in its place. Then copy the old files over to the new hard drive. Then disconnect the old drive, reconnect your CD-ROM or other IDE device, and put your computer back together. Then you'll be on your way.

ROFLMAO!!

Watch out, Terwynn has a bunch of pointy stabby things, so don't get too lovey-dovey on him. On the other hand, I have a lotta pointy stabby things too. But on the gripping hand, I quite welcome gratuitous fondling and groping, so feel free to do anything you want!

P.S. Did you ever get that CD-RW disk to stop acting like a CD-ROM? :)
