Gents;

The current URL for Spybot is no longer valid. However, I found its new (alleged) home:

+http://spybot-spyware.com/

The file downloaded from here:

+http://www.enigmasoftwaregroup.com/affi ... roductid=4

and the file is: spyhunterS.exe

Is it safe? I was going to d/l it to my fiancee's computer. She has a problem with AOL attempting to sign on every few minutes.

Didn't bother downloading it! I'm currently downloading Adaware right now.

When in doubt, check Spyware Info. :)

Lord Poe, I highly recommend you download SpyBot from the link provided by Einhander Sn0m4n.

It works like a charm, I run it routinely on my system and I have no problems with it.

Make sure to use the "Immunize" option, and other than that, just run it regularily.

If you're up to it, under advanced options get it to clean up tracks(ie: internet cookies) and other useless crap on your computer. Plenty of options, so you can customize.

I'm no computer expert, but my dad most certainly is, and he highly recommends it.

Modesty aside, my dad would undoubtably bitchslap any member of SD.net in regards to computer knowledge, both hardare and software. Someone once tried to hack his network a long while ago. His response was a counter attack that literately destroyed the hacker's harddrive. Something about deleting the first segment of a harddrive that makes it utterly useless. :lol:
