Instant RPG review: There Is No Spoon, by Steve Darlington

Genre: Licensed; Action Movie; The Matrix
Availability: Free
Usefulness: 5/5 (Extremely useful for simulating intended target)
Crunchiness: 2/5 (Very rules light)
Overview: There Is No Spoon is an excellent beer-and-pretzels RPG which well captures the feel and nonstop action of the action movie The Matrix. In TINS, there is only one statistic, Matrix, which handles anything you want to do to manipulate the Matrix. Anything else you want to do, you have to do as a Skill. Skills can be changed and "uploaded" on the fly.
It's very easy to learn - I read through the rules and was running a game quite easily in half an hour.
I recommend the game for anybody who enjoys action movies (it's quite well-adaptable to any action flick) and likes their role-playing crunch-light and action-heavy. Obviously, players who dwell heavily on crunchy bits will be disappointed, but any fan of the movie will be more than pleased with this game.
Kudos to Steve D.
