DOS in ME

So I've been trying to get Rowan's Air Power to work, with little success. Is it because it's a DOS game from 1996? Is it because it only runs with EMM386? Is it because I use Windows ME? The only answer I can think of is, "yes".

Boot discs don't work, telling me "non-system disk or disk error". Neither do emulators, because I use FUCKING WINDOWS ME :(. (I tried DOSBox, but had little success and the program crashed as soon as I tried to load it up).

Would anyone be able to help me out here?[/url]

Maybe Bochs? It's supposed to be slow though, and you actually need a copy of DOS (try freedos).

Why the fuck are you using ME? I can understand not being able to afford upgrading but I can't understand the choice to not downgrade to something better.

Did your format your boot disk as a system disk? You can't just copy a bunch of files to a boot disk and expect it to work.
