Ctrl-Alt-Delete. How did it start? IBM's David Bradley, a part of a group of people being interviewed, explains to the audience here.

He takes credit for inventing it, but he doesn't take credit for making it a famous cultural icon. And there he takes a big jab at Bill Gates!!!

More info in the form of a news article about here.

Uh, where should I be right-clicking to save as? There's no hyperlink to the video... it's a checkbox which takes you to streaming video.

You could save it if you had Streambox VCR, but that program's getting old and not all streams work with it any more. Plus, it's technically illegal here in the United States, and I can't really use it now because it's a Windows program and I run Linux...

Oh well.

What a fucking dork. You would think with those billions he could get a decent haircut.

It's funny. Gates is one of the most reviled men in the world - the target of online rants and endless stand up comedy routines and comics. He's had pie thrown in his face.

You would THINK he'd have learned that people will make fun of him and learned to roll with it, especially when on TV or in public.

IBM Tech: Well, yeah, I created the CTRL-ALT-DEL command, but it was never intended for public use, so I really have to give credit where credit is due for making it so famous, that was Bill's job *motions to Bill Gates, sitting to his right*
Bill Gates: ... *making an "oh, you fucknut" face*
IBM Tech: ...when you used it for the NT logon!
Bill Gates: *thinking* Too late, I've already deleted your records and put a bounty on your head, fucker.
Moderator: Well, now that we've set the tone for tonight....

Apparently, Gates is utterly devoid of a sense of humor.

If he'd the richest man on the world, I'm sure he could use some of it to buy a sense of humor.

And if that's his reaction to a little joke, I'm sure there wouldn't have been any survivors at that thing if every rant ever written against him was read to him.

Oh yeah. He looks SO pissed. The smile and jolly expression is a dead giveaway.

Doesn't exactly seem to be fuming to me...

The expression is frozen to his unblinking face, he also was dead silent for the next moment which is not usually a sign that someone's taken the joke well. What were you expecting him to do, start snarling and barking?

Does this mean that Gates is part of the IRS Auditor/secret service captive breeding program....

you wouldn't beleive how hard it is to get them to reproduce....

I don't think you can associate the socio-economic situation of a person to their sense of humor.

... Because it couldn't POSSIBLY be because he'd rather remain polite, would it? Oh yeah, because this "news conference" was REALLY just a buncha guys hangin' out.

What were YOU expecting him to do? Ask Bradley to pass the doobie?

Ok, can you honestly say that you've never been in a situation where someone's said something funny about you and you just stare at them? I'm not making the claim that he's thinking of putting a bounty on their heads for all I know he's probably just hard pressed for a good comback. Either way if you watch the video you'll see that it's not an overly positive response.

You know, Gates reminds me of that company CEO asshole from that movie where he would hire peeps to write code for him, and then off-them when they "didn't serve a purpose". He'd steal code from other people and do the same thing. I can't remember the name of the movie to safe my life though. ...
