For some reason, the music won't play during the missions.

It's just the music during the mission, the sound effects will play, and the music at the menu and the opening cutscene all work fine.

Have you got the music volume on?

Other than that I'm stumped.

I checked everything, turned on all kinds of sound (I leave some muted from time to time) but still nothing.

It's because you virtually touch yourself at night.
