Mercury News
Take this with a grain of salt until E3, but the Mercury News has broken a story on the specs of the next-gen Xbox, due to be launched in late-2005. Here is the breakdown:
- 3x 65 nanometer IBM PPC CPU's (this could of course be a three core system instead of three discrete chips). Figure about 2GHz a piece.
- R500+ ATI graphics card with integrated DRAM
- 256MB UMA memory (possible 512MB)
- Integrated flash memory, but no hard drive
Interesting to see a lack of a hard drive, but I imagine that is still up in the air at this point. We'll see.
EDIT: Team Xbox has some additional details and comments. Good stuff.
