So, I'm thinking of getting this flight sim. Does anyone else here own it? If so, I'd like some opinions before decide to buy it. The screenshots I've seen of LOMAC look quite impressive, and I've heard the realism is also top-notch. However, I'd appreciate some feedback from people who have actually played it before I make my decision...Thanks in advance.

I've heard it's still somewhat buggy, but that might have been fixed.
IL-2 Forgotten Battles is good, though, if you're into WW2 flight combat sims.

The realism is quite good. It's not as top-notch as Falcon 4.0 (after you implement a myriad of community-developed "fixes" developed over the years) but it's quite good.
The graphics require some very powerful equipment. Heck, nobody can maximize the water reflectivity detail and keep over 20fps in 12x9 right now. The sim was designed for future systems in mind.
Most bugs have gone away, there are still some issues like an underpowered ECM burn-through feature on the F-15's radar, or the AMRAAMs having their range a bit short, but that's being fixed in patch 1.02, due out any day now.
I have it. I really like it. And I'd recommend it. It's great.

It's a fun game to play, both the Air to Air and Air to Ground. The realism is pretty good with pretty realistic radar, EW, weapons and flight performance for each plane (though wimps can switch off things like G forces and turn on a birds eye view radar if they can't handle it).
The biggest problem for me personally is that there are few differences between the Su-27 and 33/MiG-29A and S. I would have preffered different varients (plus a third US plane). Of course, you've got the pure coolness of the A-10/Su-25.
If you like modern day combat flight sims, (as oppossed to Il-2:FB) I'd recomend it.

Highly recommended. The Su-25 is a joy to fly. Too bad I can't seem to comprehend the steam guage navigation equipment, no matter how hard I try.

Well, they didn't really have much choice; the Su-27, MiG-29 and MiG-29S are the only eligible variants actually in Russian service; and they are designed with commonality in avionics in mind, for ease of pilot conversion. I quite like the MiG-29S. The R-77 AMRAAMskis are fun to use.

Alright then, I've decided I will get it...
Thanks for the input

Can they be fired in a TWS mode like AMRAAMs on a F-15 or do you have to lock on in STT?

I was looking at this today as I'bve just seen the first episode of Yukikaze and suddenly need a new flight sim to get me going.
Guess this sounds like the one, I was looking for Jane's or other stuff though like Falcon 4.
