Anyone interested in an FR game?

Is anyone interested in running/playing a Forgotten Realms game? I really could use the practice DMing, since I will soon be DMing a large group rather soon. This will help me get my creative juices flowing, of course, and get me more familiarized in general with the game. And of course, it could be fun. (Well, fat chance.
) I'm wanting to run a higher-level campaign, probably around levels 12-15. I'll post house rules, etc, later on, if there is a large enough response to this. Also, I haven't yet decided where to start the campaign, so toss ideas at me.
So, any takers?

Bring it on!
*Gets to rolling up a paladin, just because I can.* Incidentally, I promise not to metagame if you use those ideas I suggested in that thread asking for campaign ideas.

I would not mind a start in say... Waterdeep.

Waterdeep? Not for a beginning DM. Its far too complex. You have to think of the DM's skill as well. A wilderness campaign has far fewer NPC variables. And more opportunity to use warhorses.
Or we could do Westgate if you want a city environment. Enough evil to keep us busy and the politicians are mostly bought out by the Night Masks, so there's little government to worry about.

Hmm..I could play that self-interested(true neutral... simple apathy)mage I havent gotten to play for a while...

I'm open to the idea. Spellfire is fun...

I don't care what your alignment is, Westgate has enough evil to keep you busy even if you're chaotic evil yourself.
The Night Masks come to you...

I will of course have to allow myself a high con score, and at least take that feat....

Without the Spellfire Wielder PrC, the feat actually rather sucks ass. You depend entirely upon the enemy targeting you with spells to gain any use from it at all. Run into a bunch of orcs and you're running on a worthless feat slot.

Thankfully, 12th level is plenty to get the PrC. Besides, take four levels of Fighter. More Feats than should be legal right there.

No no, more feats than should be legal is a human fighter who takes Vow of Poverty from the Book of Exalted Deeds at first level.
30 honkin' feats over 20 levels.
I made one and ran him up through twenty levels. I actually started running out of feats that he qualified for.

Hrm. Westgate sounds most delightful.
BTW, I'm not a 'beginning dm', just one rather out of practice for about 10 years.
Ok, here's the rules for the campaign.
-All character's begin at level 15
-Character's of any level adjustement ARE allowed, however, they shall be advanced according the the Powerful Races sidebar in the FR Campaign setting. (Thus, a vampire could be at most level 7, because of it's level adjustment of +8.) However, you must come forward early on if you are playing as such a powerful race, and I will decide if that certain race is suitable for the setting.
-All DMG and FR Setting Corebook prestige classes are allowed, as well as those from the Lord's of Darkness FR book. Any others you wish to become must be PMed to me in their entirety, including special abilities gained, etc.
-You may purchase any items that you can afford, however, there is a 80,000 gold spending limit on an individual item. You may purchase property as you please, but nothing larger than a manor or a small tower.
-You may have hired mercenaries of up to 5th level, paid as according to the DMG.
-Any alignment is valid, however, I will not tolerate 'chaotic stupid' characters. Such a character will meet a swift demise at the hands of unfriendly townsfolk.
(That means no flinging fireballs at nearby buildings just because you feel like it. Some very powerful people might get a wee bit pissed.)
I would prefer if everyone used the character sheets at 3eprofiler.net, simply for convience in everyone involved.
Recent events in the area shall be posted tommorow.

Any rules regarding Leadership and whether we can use the feat? Also, are we using 3.0, 3.5, or some 3.25 combo? (If 3.0 or 3.25 I'll have to download the 3.0 SRD real quick. I left my 3.0 books at home.)

Hrm. Since copying a full section from a PrC is alot of text, if one is going to start with all the levels availiable in it, would it be better to just list the end results? Thinking a Shade Ftr5/SplFr10 to start..

Shades have a level adjustment. +2, I think, though it might be higher.
Alignment ideas? I was thinking of playing a paladin, but if your shade is of typical shade alignment then that's likely a bad idea.

I was thinking of one of the non-transformed civilians... Mostly because I think Netherese are fun to play. I'm goign to go NG for alignment, insofar as such things are tracked. Or at least, someone trying to be NG.

Ahhhh. A shadovar, not a Shade. Gotcha. (Yeah, I'm geeky enough to keep the proper terms for the citizenry correct.
) Okay, no problem then. *Goes to figure out how to use 3eprofiler.*

Right. My character is
here. He's not finished yet. I still haven't bought equipment. I used 4d6 drop lowest die for my ability scores, and rolled my HP with a maximized first level die. I used the dice roller program provided by 3eprofiler.net. I hope that isn't a problem. If you want another ability score system I'll redo it.

I'd be interested, I'm sure if I gave Coaan a kick in the ass he'd stick his head in on it too...though I feel it only fair to warn you, when he's in a party, he's often the only one to come back alive...accidents and all....

Yes, that is quite fine.
Also, character generation is the standard 4d6, drop lowest method.
I'm still rather torn between where to start this campaign out. Wesgate is of course fantastic, but then again I've always wanted to set a game in Thay or Mulrohand, or maybe even the the Underdark.
