My PC starting showing signs of Windows rot, forcing me to reformat my HDD.
After reinstalling WinME (don't laugh), I find that I can't use my modem.
Windows recognizes it being there, but can't do anything with it. When I try dialing out, it gives me an ERROR 630.
Is this a conflict with my comm port settings? Any ideas how to fix this?
I really don't want to spend the money to get it fixed just yet.
Any help is much appreciated!
A Quick Question Regarding Modems and Comm Ports...

Microsoft has a Knowledge Base article on this. Also, Google around for "Error 630 modem" to see if that helps as well.
Thanks Phongn!
That site you posted helped as well as the google searches.
From what I gather, I'm probably just going to have to reinstall my modem and drivers. Ugh, what a pain in the butt.....but I have install my other video card anyways.
I actually stumped the tech support (not hard to do) from my ISP.
