I just downloaded it, but am having trouble with the updates. I definately have an internet connection available for it, and the firewall isn't blocking it, but it can't get a connection. Is this happening to anyone else, or is it a problem on my end?

It might be a problem with it not recognizing your connection being active if it's cable/broadband.

You can download the updates manually off their website too.

OK, manual update works fine (thanks for pointing that out, Vertigo1!), and automatic update works intermittently, so I'm guessing it's a server problem somewhere.

I haven't had that problem but have had it crash at the end of it scanning my hard drive, even after I deleted it and used another scanner (seems to be protected from virus's infecting it- Macafee) and re-downloaded and re-installed it. I like that it shows me how many bytes it's scanned rather than how many files, Macfee it looks like I'll eventually have to pay for the updates.

Yeah, McAfee dropping their old policy of "free virus data file updates for life" is what prompted me to download AVG. Now if I could just get rid of this little problem...

EDIT: It works now! Woot! Guess it was a server issue.

Guess there must be something on my computer that messed with AVG, if the free edition works for you all but mine crashes when it finishes scanning, must be something unique to my PC.
