Question about various comps and filetypes

Okay, I need to have a couple questions about filetypes answered as soon as I can..

1) Are Macs and/or WebTV comps compatible with *.doc files?
2) Are they compatible with *.zip files?
3) If not compatible with *.zip files, is there some format that I can make so that Macs and WebTV users can save the archive (provided they're compatible with *.doc files)?

Firstly, define a .DOC file. Are you referring to some sort of text file in the Microsoft Word format (WordPad also uses that format natively). If so....

1. Macs can read Word files. The included Preview application can parse basic Word files; Microsoft Word is also available for Macintosh. WebTV users probably cannot read Word files.

2. Most Macs can read ZIP files with Stuffit Expander, which is on virtually every Mac I can think of. WebTV cannot since there is no file storage, AFAIK.

3. Macs tend to use StuffIt archives (SIT) natively, but for cross-platform work ZIP is usually fine.

Web tv is basically irrelevant and if you care about someone who uses it you'll force them to use something else. For there own good.

Yes, I was referring to Word documents. Thanks. :)
