garment grids?
admittedly i've been a bit outta the gaming loop as i've been too broke to afford a PS2 lately, but what the hell's a garment grid? although i've heard one description of X2 that sums it up nicely: "Yuna's lesbian hotpants adventure."

I thought it was fun to play for a while, but it didn't have the Epic-ness that other FF games have.
Now I can't play it anymore because that damnd POS japanese pop song from the second musical number gets stuck in my head and stays there for weeks at a time, causing me to go batshit crazy.

Yes, Zod, Garment Grid.
The basic idea is this: You acquire 'spheres' which allow to you change into different Jobs (whitemage, blackmage, fighter, etc.). The Garment Grid allows you to customize what jobs each character can use during a battle. If you cycle through all the jobs on the Garment Grid during a single battle, you get access to each character's Special Job, a very powerful device that can clear the field by itself. Very nice for Boss fights, but when you use it, only that character gets Experience.

First impression:
OMG, what the hell did I just spend my money on?
Second impression:
Oh I see...
I'm only up to chapter two but it's showing signs of grittiness that might become interesting.

Job system by magical-girl costume change.
I like it, it's a lot of fun, and it has New Game +, so you can keep all the jobs/abilities you collected last time (but return to Level 1)

New Game + also keeps your Completion Percentage Points, which opens up alternate endings after the credits roll.

It's actually possible to get all the endings in one playthrough, just a pain in the ass.

Meh, it was okay. The battle system rocked and the Dresssphere thing was cool (except that the black mage SUCKED) but the storyline was weak and honestly Yuna and Rikku weren't very interesting to begin with. I did like Paine though.
