Help W/ Printer SHaring

I have a lexmark x83 plugged into one of my computers on a home network. It's running Windows XP Home. I have another one running windows 2000 professional( linux will come later, i just needed it to work right for now). How do i get them to play nice and have the 2000 one detect the printer? The 2000 one sees the xp one but can't access it. When i click on the xp one it says that the path is invalid. The xp one is worse. It says that i need to get permission from the network administrator to see the other computers on the network (and the funny thing is i thought i was the network administrator) . It will work for now 'cause i can just e-mail print jobs to myself but i'd like a better way of doing this. Thanks in advance
