Just today, my computer has mysteriously suffered two Total Power Failures despite having both a wire and a battery connected. I strongly suspect it is a hardware power train problem, but of course Customer Service swears it must be a software thing.

Just in case, I'm asking whether anybody else has similar problems.

Thank you.

The MSBlast worm did that. What OS are you using?

Windows XP Home Edition.

Never mind, I'm sure my power bus is going down the drain...

I just had an incident where the fucker kept trying to start up for ten times and didn't succeed. It kind of turned on, off, on, off, on, off ... etc.

Sounds like it is the damned shop AGAIN. Which means I can't go on the Internet for a week. Again. Sigh...

Do you get a message that says 'RCP protocols failed'? If so, thats the BLaster.

I got the MSBlaster a while back, but had someone experienced with it standing next to me when it happened so he managed to save me before the computer would have crashed in 45 seconds, and I removed the worm.

That was a while back.

Don't really have that much to worry about with viruses...

Muwahaha!

And even if my Windows computer got infected, I could boot up in Linux and keep on going.

Any error messages? And where does it crash/stop in the startup process?
