Seriously. I am getting spyware up the galoot, and whenever I type text it randomly decides to capitalize and tab.
Oh, and before you all cry out 'GET MOZILLA!' I have it. Along with Spybot S&D, Adware, 2 firewalls, HijackThis! etc etc etc....and yet, everytime I start up my comp I am slammed with 500 popups and about 2 dozen toolbars. Plus, it is no longer reading floppies OR cd drives, no matter what the fuck I do! And this comp is not even a year old!

Get rid of one of the firewalls. You'll just fuck up your system with 2 of em. With the remaining one, dissallow IE to connect to the net. Update all anti-spy programs and run system scans. Look through your program files and registries yourself for obvious spyware. Clear out the cache on all your browsers as well as their cookies.

Which firewalls do you have?

The best is probably Kerio Personal Firewall v.2.

First thing to do is to unplug the network cable from your computer. That will prevent the popup program from loading the popups when you boot. Then you'll be free to try and clean the mess up.

My company's server doesn't support Linux, and I need it for everything I do (work-wise). So thats out.

Well, deleting IE breaks all sorts of things in Windows... although to completely remove it, you need to take care of MSHTML.DLL as well (although that will really break Windows).

What I would do at this point, since you've apparently already deleted iexplore.exe, is to go through the registry and start deleting every reference to iexplore.exe you find.

If you can figure out how to get windows to work right w/o ie then clue me in 'cause that's the holy grail of computers for quite a few people.

Hehehehehehe. I use IE and have no spyware. Eat that.

Depends on what version of Windows you want to run... if you want to run Win9x/ME without IE then you should look into Lite98.

I found out how to remove IE from XP myself, just a little bit ago..

Have you scanned for any infections with an anti-virus program? Tried searching Spywareinfo for similar symtoms?
