CCP have given the beta testers of EVE-Online 14 free days to try out the full finished version of the software. Obviously a ploy to get us all hooked... and it's working.

My thoughts so far:

Graphics engine: I have yet to see a space combat engine produce the effects that this game can.

Player run economy: Very nice, I really like how it's implimented.

Combat, corporations and warfare: Haven't got that far yet.

I'll post mroe thoughts once I've had more of a play.

Anyone else have any thoughts on the game?

Early on, when you have shit for skills, combat is pretty simplistic, because you are limited in available equipment. As you get various skills, options open up to you. It is entirely possible to do level 2 agent combat missions in a frigate, you just need a tricked out level 3 frigate for them. Preferably one with missiles.

Economy is very nicely done, aside from some minor gripes. Kudos to CCP.

The game is really very, very different (and much more satisfying, in my opinion) when you join a corp.

Haven't experienced large scale corp warfare yet, but I doubt I will any time soon, as my character is a science/industry type, and not likely to get into any major fights.

There are some minor issues I have with the game, but overall it's very well done in my opinion. Anyone who plays and is reading this, PM me for contact information ;)
