No Good can come of this
I am really hoping for a rumor, given what Bungie became.

= SCREAMS IN TERROR =
Wizards of the Coast and LucasArts, cancel your agreements with Bioware now, before Microsoft starts going after the biggest RPG and Sci-Fi franchises going!

This has to be a freakin joke!!! Better brush up on your VBScript, fools! You'll need it to make new mods in Neverwinter Nights. And you can kiss any Linux versions of NWN goodbye.

Even MS is trying to drop VBScript.
It would be using the .NET framework, so any .NET capable language & compiler could probable be used. But mostlikely the C# or VB.NET compiler would be hardcoded on which to use.
And you can kiss any Linux versions of NWN goodbye.
There have been some Linux ports for various games Microsoft publishes. Heck there is even a Linux version of Internet Explorer.
But the reason you dont see many linux ports is
it isnt economically viable to pay someone todo it.

Psst, TSR was dead. Get over it.
I much prefer the D20 System, and I probably have more pre-D20 System stuff then and 2 random members of this BBS combined

Where can I get this Linux port? I know there is a version of IE4 for Solaris and HP-UX, but this has disappeared off of the MS website, and would be binary incompatible anyway.

I hate Microsoft as much as some of the most fervant on this board, but their games division does happen to be one of the best in the industry. Let me put it this way: I'd rather Bioware be bought by MS than those Sam & Max cancelling sons of bitches at Lucasarts.

At least, if true, that would give me a reason to 'obtain' these games the other way, since I will never pay for any M$ product.

Word, Lucas can go suck a nut after that move (canceling the Sam & Max sequel). I give props to MS's game division overall, the only division I hold in any regard outside of the Mac Business Unit, but I still hope the rumor isn't true and that Bioware remains an independent company.

This would change what? Exactly?
Bioware are showing all the signs of being XBox exclusive developers anyway, Jade Empire is already being published by MSGS....

I worked at Polygon magazine until we closed doors a few weeks back. I can't verify the accuracy of the rumor myself, but it wouldn't surprise me.
Anyone here read the mag?
