Also, quite a few sites use transfer compression with gzip. This is easy with a decent web browser, but it's quite a hassle with telnet, making it a lot slower for some large static pages.Mad wrote:Of course, the typing for telnet would be significantly slower than using a text-based browser (not to mention the overhead from executing multiple processes), defeating the claim that "Telnet is the fastest."
