Would a 420 watt PSU support the upcoming GeForce 6800?

Only a good quality one. If you actually read the reviews, its stated that nVidia recommends atleast a good 480W power supply. However, if you're smart you'll wait till the sucker comes out. Then the prices will drop on the FX line and you might be able to snag you a decent FX5900 Ultra for alot cheaper.

I would recommend an Antec supply unit based on experience and sayso of the other board I am on (it's a PC board  )

You never know, it might work out like my power supply and video card. I have a GeForce 4 ti4200, which requires a 350W power supply according to the box, yet I have run it on my computer's 300W power supply for two years with no problems.

It depends on what else you have installed in your computer and how much power those things use. If you have 3 hard drives and a high-end overclocked CPU it probably isn't going to work, but I'd guess that on more typical systems you shouldn't have a problem.
