Resident Evil 4 Plot

Does anyone have any real information on the plot to the latest true sequel (ignoring the spin-offs Outbreak and Code Veronica and the prequel Zero) to this franchise?

From what I have seen so far, it looks like it takes place in hick country with Leon as the main protagonist, but given the way Umbrella fucks things up and the plot is getting more convoluted every time, I'm not going to try and second guess this.

Did the plot ever matter? The whole point of the game is to make grown men like me wet themselves.

According to a Gamespy article a while back:

Leon is now some secret service / CIA / whatever agent who has to go to an island for some reason, to rescue one of the presidents relatives i think. There's zombies and monsters but apparently no Umbrella involved.

It seems that the game will also have a more combat friendly system, rather than the fucking annoying camera angles and shitty controls that have been hallmarks of the past games.

I came across an interesting article awhile back covering pretty much everthing about the whole series.

While it covers only a little about RE 4 it's still a good read to speculate on what will hapen in 4.

I found an IGN segment on it too that seems to say it's in Europe and set mostly in a village (in daylight too for some reason) with Leon hunting down the daughter of the US president it seems given he's now a gov't agent after all the shit he's been through.

The makers seem to suggest Umbrella Inc., although no longer inexistence since the gov't liquidated it, is still behind some of this. There are apparently no zombies as the villagers are smarter and not as slow as T-Virus infected enemies of the past. So this is interesting if Umbrella and the original two viruses aren't even hinted at.

The graphics alone demand everyone buy this game.
