Finally, another scriptkiddy bites the dust. Now let's give him a virus. I recommend Ebola because I love it.

This damn bug has been more of a pain than any other as it's slowing the university network down so my research is also compromised. May this virus rot in silicon hell.

Luckily even my computer inept sister and mom know enough to keep the family comp (for which everything simple such as virus def updates and the like is their responsibility) more or less safe. So none of the comps in my house got it.

Well I got ~30h overtimework for this, I like the money but not the way I get em.

The scary thing for me is that the time from a reported exploit to a worm was only three weeks in this case, not much time to test and eval the patch.

The best money ever spent here has been in the upgrade of the mail server software to MDaemon 6.5x and MDaemon Antivirus, that plus our rather draconian firewall has kept this network safe for very long, having a virus filter in the mail-server itself plugs one of the biggest security holes, ofcourse we also employ AV software on every client computer as well, yay me(the sysadmin).
