In my mad rush last week to buy a XBOX so i can get KOTOR finally and KOTOR 2 when it comes out i played KOTOR non stop, in my haste i forgot all about what that Yoda guy had asked me on what do i do if a dark jedi wants to talk in the middle of a fight, i taked and she still said the same thing, so i talked some more and killed her. I later found out that the dark jedi on the rocks on Datooine would have joined my party. I was thinking about starting the game over but i was 16hours into the game and didnt feel l ike going back,
My question is, is this dark jedi all that important and is she even that good?

First, this should be in the Computer & Games forum.

Second, according to Utsanomiko, while she's not essential to the story, as a Jedi, she's rather useful for her lightsabre skills and Force powers, particularly if you want to maintain a Jedi-only party.

hmm, yeah sorry about the wrong post forum, but i figured i saw some other KotOR here so it would be alright, I usually use me, Bastilla, and Carth i just wanted to know if the dark jedi was all that more powerful than Carth, and were do you find a purple or orange crystal

Juhani isn't too bad...and she is a Jedi Guardian.

But as to how characters go...she rates well below Zaalbar in terms of sheer power.

And off to Gamig.

As far as I know, there are no orange crystals. There is a purple crystal in the Krayt Dragon cave on Tatooine.

And Juhani is a pretty useful character. If you redeem her, she becomes a light Jedi, and of course has a sidequest of her own like all the characters in the game (except T3-M4).

One can do that anyway after hitting Kashyyk, with the old black Jedi dude whose name I forgot.

Juhani is pretty boring, in my opinion.

That said, if you kill her you get squat for XP, while if you 'redeem' her you get a lot. Not a difficult decision, as for the most part you can choose who's in your party anyway.

Jolee. And he is FAR better given his class at doing Jedi abilities. Sorta sucks he's not lightsided enough...and for some reason Juhani has more wisdom.

Problem with the classes are the abilites either go from kick ass to crap.

1. Guardian...you get the jumping ability. Gives higher chance at Critical hits but also seperates you and can't be comboed.

2. Consular gives immense bonus to Force abilities. All around very nice(and if you're suffering HP...how? Literally the game has thousand of health packs, and screw it healing)

3. Guardian gives cannot be stunned or held by Force Powers. Too bad their's an implant to counter act that.

Don't you mean Sentinel? ;)

As for an implant doing the same job, yes. However, there are also better implants. :P Sentinel all the way, baby. :D

Bah...I am tired and it's way too early without my shot of espresso :P

There are slightly better implants except for some I just couldn't justify as well.

I mean you could go dex but the game rates hand to hand combat on strength and Dex only then affects your AC....which means almost squat.

And Con was just much better with Zaalbar because heck....he can use it to a disgusting degree.

I've tried all the combinations and for me the best worked out was Scout/Consular. Pump up Wisodm to ungodly heights and you're bitchslapping Malak with your force powers and have enough combat ability to not completely suck.

This is my last question i promise, for some reason my character (Jedi Sentinel.. if it maters) my character has the hardest time hitting enemies, at first i had him holding 2 sabers which i learned that it was the reason for the every time misses but then he has one now and he still misses half t he time, i really dont know what to do.

And the damn Mandalorians on Datooine with the leader are hard as hell.

List your feats, force powers, and your attack bonus when using a lightsabre.

Feats: if you were using two weapons without the Two-weapon fighting feat, then it's no wonder why you weren't hitting. Also, if you use one lightsabre/weapon, you can select the Dueling feat.

Force powers: some of them, like Burst of Speed, help a lot in combat.

Attack bonus: it could be you're using the wrong 'sabre, remember you can mod them to increase +damage or +attack (among other things). If you're seriously having difficulty at this stage (Dantooine) bypass the Mandalorian and go to the last map, where there's a cave on one of the corners. You'll find a whole heap of crystals. Just be careful, there are a lot of spiders running around. And I'm not talking about the typical house variety. ;)

Obviously my house has different calibre pests than yours.

Juhani < Jolee.

Mainly because, if you're Light Side, you can teach Jolee all the evil powers you skipped out on without him getting a cost penalty like you would if you learned them yourself. Not so for Juhani. If you play a Guardian she's just redundant.

That being said, there is literally no point in killing her except to be pointlessly cruel.

Meh, listening to her endless 'poor me and my childhood' story arc when I went through as a lightsider just really made me want to kill the bitch as a Sith. Didn't get shit for XP's (luckily I just saved before) so I let her live but didn't talk to her the rest of the game.

I wonder if she thought I didn't like her.
