...try Singles: Flirt up your Life by Eidos Interactive. The game is availible for download only from here and you can even download a full trial version which is identical to the full version, except you are limited to four hours of gameplay. I'm still downloading so I haven't had a chance to play this yet, but it looks fun and I've been following its development for a while with anticipation. Think of an adult version of The Sims and you'll get the idea.

Anyone who tries it post here with comments.

It's rated AO (Adults Only) which means they can get away with anything they want (this is why you can't buy it in stores) and it was developed originally in Europe, so I think we can expect sex scenes somewhere between soft core Cinemax and regular porno.

I'm not sure exactly how far they go except that we get full frontal nudity and sex scenes that are realistic rather than cartoonish (like Leisure Suit Larry for example).

I have physiology textbooks for this, really I'd only bother if it was a hentai game because a) the art is nice and b) the Engrish cracks me up. Japanese girls also have the cutest voices when being screwed.

Good for Eidos for having the balls to be the first major American publisher to put out a game with an AO rating (at least, I think they are, someone can correct me if I'm wrong). It's about fucking time.

Eidos are British, hence, Eidos Plc. Though they have a large development and distribution arm in the States, much like how EA does in the UK.

Depends on one's recharge rate I would expect...

For some reason the idea of this game scares me. Perhaps it's the idea of lonely 40-year old men who still live with their parents and still haven't had a single G/F playing this game day and night trying to get virtually laid.

Mike gets this thing called "regular sex." It's very much like a domesticated animal versus a wild one. Whilst the wild creature must work for whatever food it gets, facing starvation and death every day, the domesticated one gets fed regularly.

Such is the situation of married males versus single ones. The single ones must face the ever-present, looming shadow of rejection and blue balls every day, while the married ones don't have to worry too much about it. Recently being catapulted out of a sexual drought has helped me appreciate both sides.

It's not, however, as peachy as it is with Mike all the time. A lot of marriages suffer bad sex the older they get.

It pays to marry the right lass and one who loves to try anything.

Fine. Do you like Horny Bunnies? wasn't that bad. But the developer was probably offended by the good review, and made sure that the cleverly titled sequel, Do you like Horny Bunnies? 2 was absolutely horrible.

Ok, I have got this to say about the trial version:

I probably spent 3 hours in loading times alone, in total.

So I must have played for 30 minutes (allowing another 30 minutes for time lost trying to run the game and crashed because "directdraw couldn't find memory to run the game" if I didn't reboot after every 10 minutes of play)

This is a complete ripoff of the Sims, only less to Do and more Talk.

The game boils down to this:
On work days:
-Wake up, eat, crap, shower, go to work, return from work, fix smoking fridge, fix smoking stove, fix smoking sink, fix smoking toilet, fix smoking shower, fix smoking couch, eat again, sleep
On weekends (or probably one weekday at least that you have to take off because they apparently don't have time to shower - which takes 2 hours - eat - 1 1/2 hour each meal - crap - 1 hour) you can substitute "work" with:

1) romance: sweet talk, compliment
2) friendship: chat, talk about hobbies
3) sensuality: flirt, later frenchkiss, cuddle and much later have sex i suppose
4) fun: who cares

each of these actions improve a different "relationship" meter: friendship, sensuality, romance, etc. this in turn allows for better actions as mentioned above. I suppose the objective of the game is to fill the bars you want so that you can have sex.

Oh, and every day or so you get enough experience for a skill point, which can either improve your job (higher salary) or a skill (cooking, cleaning, repairing, romancing, flirting, humour).

You can buy things, but they are mostly just improved versions of the shit you start with: a tv that doesn't break so often, a fridge that doesn't break so often, a stove that doesn't break so often (so much to chose from!).

The "sim chatter" is just horrible. They imitate the cute "Sims" talk, but they just sound like some kind of horrible mutation of a twilek from KOTOR.

Once in a while they will have a "conversation" which is kinda pre-scripted, they just say a lot of stupid-sounding innuendo that was probably translated from German using BABELFISH.

If you play it, I recommend that before starting a new game or loading, disable the ENVIRONMENT SHADOWS. They take something like 10 minutes to render, which is about 4 times a day (when the light changes) or when you make ANY changes thru the buy screen.
