Melty Blood: ReACT out

As several of us on SD.net are Melty Blood fans (judging by avatars and .sig files), I thought I'd drop the line that the expansion pack, ReACT, is out. Getting a copy might be difficult, however, as most importers only shipped out their copies today. Acquiring through... other channels, shall we say, should be possible if you can't wait for the package.

The game is mostly self-contained, though it does a check to see if the original Melty Blood is installed via the Registry (otherwise, it wouldn't be a real expansion pack). It's kind of flaky at this, so if you run into problems, reinstall the original.

Speaking of installation: just doing it manually and moving the correct files over would be a better choice IIRC.

I wish I had humans to play it with. My cousin next door only plays damn CS and there are mostly hicks around. Shiiiiet, I'm probably one of the few people in Ohio aware of any doujin games

There are some bugs. One involves Sion's lvl3 super where her portrait doesn't display at the right time (but who fucking cares), and I've crashed twice during the arcade mode.

I actually did that the first time I installed MB. That didn't add the necessary Registry entries for MB:RA to detect, however, so I ended up having to do the install over again, despite having a fully-functional copy already installed. MB:RA's install is in one gigantic self-extracting file on the disk, making the old "drag everything over" method kind of useless. Plus, it checks the Registry again every time you start the game.

I'm still waiting for an English language patch for Melty Blood's story mode.

*sigh*

It does when you start from the start menu or the run menu, but for some reason not when you start the game from windows explorer, at least for me. Strange, really.

Have you gotten the secret characters to unlock? I finished the story mode, am on my way to finishing every character's route in the arcade mode, and as of yet nothing.

No I don't read the text. Actually, you don't have to.

There are separate story routes depending a which battles you win or lose. You'll see what I mean if you play far enough. So you play the different possible routes and get different story routes, until you finish with fighting against Warakia, then the other final route against Miyako.
