by keeping Spyware away!
You can help keep your privacy safer by staying informed about Spyware, and MSN can help. What's Spyware? It's software that can invade your computer and collect information about you—including your favorite Websites and your passwords—and then pass that information on without your knowledge.
Spyware can enter your computer when you download music, games and other software. Spyware often works together with a program called Ad-aware, which takes your information and starts sending a stream of unsolicited ads to your computer. It's not only annoying, but it can tax both your productivity and your computer's performance.
Here are some tips to help stay clear of Spyware:
Be sure Microsoft Windows is up-to-date by clicking here.
Set your browser security at medium or high, and install a firewall if you don't have one.
Don't download anything from an unknown source.
Scan your computer for deceptive software.
Lavasoft Ad-aware and Spybot Search and Destroy are free programs that are manufactured by companies that are independent from Microsoft. These tools may be able to assist you with the identification and removal of deceptive software. Please note that Microsoft is not responsible for the performance of these third-party tools.

It's good to see they're recommending *something* to people on how to curb the problem (although they missed the part about downloading Firefox ) The crack-smoking email writer has to go, though.
