Best D2 party.

Got to thinking about the old D2 1.1 group threads and I was wonder, what would be the best combo of 8 character types designed to work together as one team?

Concentrator(Shout, Concentrate, Iron Skin, plus warcries Sword n Shield style to have good hp and hard as fuck to hit), Vengence Pal(vengence with resist lowering aura), Hammerdin, Cleric(Prayer Meditation Synergy to have decent regen and steallar mana regen on everybody, with holy bot to tear through undead, and heal like senzu beans) Blizzard/Frozen orb or Fireball-Meteor Sorc(with Resist lowering aura/curse in effect to just own everything), Shapshifter(high HP tank with increase HP to everyone), Poison necro with Amp dam and/or lower resist) and a Trapassin.

Fuck trapassins, have a kickassin with 300+ str and myrmidon greaves :twisted: :twisted: :twisted:

Thing is, if Lower resist and the resist lowering aura stack(and even if they don't AMP DAM), traps (as well as blessed hammer and sorc spells) are going to eat through everything but immunes like paper.

There's a cap on the amount of lowered resistance a monster can take. I don't think it can go below negative 150%. Fully synergized lightning sentry is roughly 2.5k max damage. That's 81 skill points to reach it. A good dtail will be 6800 damage area of effect minimum, with 9642 applied directly to the kicked monster. It takes only 41 skill pts to get that kind of damage. That also includes 220 str and 150 dex, which isn't optimum at all~ you get much greater returns on pumping str for the build. After the auras the damage gets so insane you'll want to molest yourself. AND you can leech. AND leave room for a high lvl fade which has a hidden phys damage reduced property. That also leaves room for maxed shadow master.

Even considering the fact that five traps can be laid down at once, the minimum damage on lightning sentry sucks ass. It isn't like you'll absolutely need a source of lightning damage anyway~ a hammerdin will cover 99% of monster immunities.
