Tensided SDN2 Campaign Discussion Thread

Post by Gerard_Paloma »

I've switched domains for the website, it can now be found at TensidedRPG.com.

On a related note, is anyone interested in another forum game using the Tensided rules? Or at the very least, continuing the Cyberpunk campaign from a few months ago? I know Art wanted to run another forum game, so just reply in this thread if you wanna participate in a new campaign or are still interested in a resurrected Cyberpunk game.

Heath and I are running a short campaign to playtest the rules. I'm also adding a lot of content in terms of Merits and Flaws, and I'm making a Big Book of Guns and Glory. I've been working on it like I haven't in months, but it's not fit for public consumption yet.

Once it is, and once the playtest campaign is over and fine tuning is made, then we'll continue the forum campaign. Besides, I've had my mind on other things the last six months and there's nothing worse than trying to run a game with a disinterested GM.

I'll start a preliminary thread when I'm getting ready. Shouldn't be too much longer.

P.S. You forgot to tell me about the name change. Didn't even know the domain name expiration was coming up. Wootage!

EDIT: Btw, could you change your sig? Insulting other people's RPG systems is not the kind of image I want to promote.

Neither did I until they sent me a renewal notice for the old domain.

Whiner. Fine, I'll change it, even if it IS true.

How would everyone feel about using OpenRPG? I'm gonna be going to school full time and working full time starting next Monday, so I'll only be free on the weekends, and a forum game doesn't make a whole lot of sense with that kind of schedule. We could still do it on the forums I suppose, but it would have to involve a 2 hour or so "lightning round" session once or twice a week, the way the other RPGs on this forum have been run. Personally I'd prefer OpenRPG, but I'll leave it open to democratic vote.

Given a choice, I'd pick OpenRPG every time. I'll play if we use OpenRPG, if it's just going to be a forum game, I think I'll sit out. So yeah, my vote is for OpenRPG.

Seems like pretty much everyone's on board the OpenRPG idea. Now we have to find a time that works for everyone. How many people work on the weekends, or are in a significantly different timezone than Pacific Standard time?

I am in the Eastern Time Zone and am also usually open during the weekends. This weekend will be an exception as I will not be around from the 19th of June to the 25th.

Could do, I'm in the same time zone as Marcao, but will likely be very busy for the next several weekends, so don't let me slow you all down. :)

I don't have shit to do on the weekends. Pretty much any time works for me, except for say, before 9 am Pacific (noon Eastern), cause that's when I'm doing the sleeps. :)

My only issue is that I work every other weekend. Other than that, I'm good. And that I'll need my character sheet - or make a new one, whichever. (So many wipes with so little opportunity to copy things.)

Eh, so we'll play every other weekend.

As for the character sheet, it's not gone, just not linked to. So are everyone else's sheets. That said, they'll have to be remade since there have been significant changes to the rules, but you're of course welcome to use the old sheets as a point of reference.

Since you've reminded me, let me put some links up on the site.

P.S. We've heard from everyone except Utsanomiko, if memory serves. Anybody know what's up with him, if he wants to continue or not? Anyone know other people who want to play?

EDIT: The old sheets are now available here.

If I'm reading you correctly, the BB v 2.59 is obsolete?

Yeah. I've got 3.0 in a playable form, but the Big Book isn't fit for public consumption just yet. It's barely even readable, much less intelligible.

The main difference is that it goes faster. A lot faster; but it doesn't sacrifice all the grisly injuries. There's also much improved organization for skills, a new concept called "abilities", and a lot more merits and flaws. Then you've got new stats, too. Lastly, lots of things have been cleaned up and made smoother and easier to understand.

Been working all morning on getting the Big Book up to spec. Hope to finish today or tomorrow.

Woot! Check out the new version of the Big Book. Read the news to see what exactly is new and what isn't.

Most importantly, you can make your characters now. Starting XP will be 450 for new and old characters alike. The difference is that continuing characters will have their old arsenals, whereas newcomers will have to scrounge.

I want to have a test session this weekend if everyone can swing it. The purpose would be to get everyone on OpenRPG and make sure it works for everyone, and to answer questions, iron out bugs in character sheets, etc. The kinds of things that's hard and klunky over the forum and e-mail.

D'oh, I tell you guys that you can make your characters and then I forget to link to the template. You can get it here or on the Source page. I've also posted a new character sheet, for my new character. Dirk's the kind of guy that would have split after he was finished with the job, so you can call me M6-41.

P.S. Hey Art, you dumbass, you need to change your sig. bladesandbarmaids.net is obsolete.
