Robes(KOTOR Spoilers)
Would you use rather the starforge robes (from KOTOR) or regular jedi robes when figthing a dark jedi.
the jedi using the blue saber is wearing starforge robes
Changed because this is both a large spoiler of the game and literally there are people who have no idea this thing exists
And moved to gaming~GR

Not worth replaying the game for that robe but if you happen to take a trip to the starforge consider making a left turn

Yep. And it was one of the WORST fucking pieces of shitty deus ex machina plot developments within it. I almost threw away my control pad in utter disgust.Zac Naloen wrote:Theres a starforge robe???
You play through most of the game, taking what you can find here and there. At some point, just about when you leave Dantooine, you hear about the Force monster (some kind of super alien beast that was tailor made for hunting jedi - re: the Great Hunt), and in turn you hear about the trio of Jedi knights who quested to rid the Galaxy of it. When you go to Kashyyk you pick up the datapad of one of these 3, and you get a inside look into their story. (you also kill this monster - rather easily, I found, but no matter) When you hit Korriben you come across a second datapad, from the other two members of the Trio (SPOILERS: they had some kind of spat, and broke company - the guy in Kashyyk felt the two were skirting close to the Dark side of the Force, because they had fallen in love).
To cut a long story short, in the remains you find Ulic-Qel Droma's Robes. Ulic was a EU character and they put him in there to achieve verisimilitude which is FUCKING CRITICAL in an RPG. You put those robes on and you feel a connection to the game, more so if you're playing light side.
What does the fucking Starforge do? Gives you a uber-robe for free.
Whereas Ulic-Qel Droma's robes brought me into the game, the Starforge robes brought me out - damn them.
[EDIT] This only applies to the light side, because that is all I'm familiar with. I guess if you played Darkside revan's robes would be a pretty cool step to achieve a connection with the game, but even then it's still too convenient.

Well, I liked the Starforge robes. Ulic's were cool of course, but given the extreme difficulty of getting through the Starforge the first time around, I needed the help (Level 8 Scout, Level 12 Jedi Guardian). Subsequent times I had a better character, but the fight with Malak can still be difficult.

Yes, absolutely. Which makes their inclusion all the more pointless.neoolong wrote:The starforge robes aren't all that great however. It's not like you need it to beat the game.
Plus I have problems with a machine that makes you some uber robes at the push of a button.

Yeah, I'd like some porno mags, some Scotch and a portable howitzer to dispense my enemies with.
"THAT - WILL - BE - 5 - LIGHT-SIDE - POINTS."
It's too much like Star Trek for my tastes.

Throughout the whole game (playing Dark Side) I was *itching* to get my Darth Revan robes back- I mean, come on, you looked fucking cool, and instead you're left to settle with some shitty black outfit that any old Jedi wears?
When I got them back, I was satisified. I didn't care about the method, to be honest.
I just wish I had my mask too.

BTW there is a way to beat Malak without the special crystals in the computer version. First fight him as normal but heal as oftn as you casn using item. Second after he drains his first victim run like hell and use your lightsabre tosss to destroy the containment things they are in . Then after they are destroyed fight Malka using every dirty trick in the book Two blades 6-25 dmg plus force master speed. thats 5 attacks a round doing from 6 to 25 points of damage per attack.

So are you supposed to use the special crystals? Because when I played through the first couple of times I never bothered to go to Yavin and ended up winning just fine.Typhonis 1 wrote:BTW there is a way to beat Malak without the special crystals in the computer version. For I dipt into the future, far as human eye could see,
Saw the Vision of the world, and all the wonder that would be;
Saw the heavens fill with commerce, argosies of magic sails,
Pilots of the purple twilight dropping down with costly bales;
Heard the heavens fill with shouting, and there rain'd a ghastly dew
From the nations' airy navies grappling in the central blue;

Yes. The same with your main character, if she's female.Striderteen wrote:Has anyone other than me noticed that Bastila's underwear changes if you put her in Sith robes?
