Combining files
I am currently downloading a file.
Its split into 16 parts for ease of download, how do I later on combine the files? is this even possible?

There's file splitter programs out there. . . What did you download it using, and what's the extension on the split files now? Some programs like bittorrent split up the files downloaded for ease of use and recombine them when it's completely finished. Though i've never heard of anything like this happening before.

17 parts, first is an .exe the rest are .rar . I assume I need to run the .exe?

hunh. that's odd. Yeah, just run the exe. It might be a self-extracting file splitting utility, though it's hard to say without much more detail.Ace Pace wrote:I'm downloading it from an FTP using FlashFXP, its naturally split up AFAIK,Darth_Zod wrote:There's file splitter programs out there. . . RAR is the extension of a compression program, just like ZIP. If the first file is an exe, then it's either just the self-extracting first part (probably created with WinRAR) or an independent install program that uses RAR archives as data.
It's probably the latter, because the former has a tendency to use extensions like RAR, R01, R02 and so on.
