I am taking suggestions for a DSL ISP I can find in the Irvine, California area. I will be needing one fairly soon. (DSL rather than cable preferably)

Additionally, I'd like recommendations for a good router. Preferably wired.

Router- old computer with a bunch of ethernet cards maybe? Can also be used as caching proxy server, file server, and firewall.

Two problems


1. Don't have an old computer

2. I'm gonna be sharing a room with someone. Gotta take the constant noise level into consideration.



At the very least point me to a good place where I can research possible ISPs.

I've heard nothing but good things about Earthlink.

As for routers, you can't go wrong with D-Link.
