What is your fav game of the series? I just got age of mythology, and
I think AoE2 is better. The original was good for its time, but a bit simple
compared to the others.

Ive always liked AOE2, the Conqueres expansion,
sadly after many years of abuse, the discs are scratched to buggery

Bought Mythology played it twice, haven't played since. AOE2 and the expansion are the way to go.

The Rise of Rome campaign on AoE is something I have happy memories of. Also I created this epic 30 something campaign on the original, pretty good in my book, although i think the plot line was all to shit.
Oh, and there was nothing more entertaining than putting in the icbm cheat on the original and watching helepolis's firing rapid fire across a whole map!
I quite like AoM for being somewhere in between the two though, but AoEII remains the best.

The original Age of Empires and Rise of Rome expansion is the best. Age of Empires 2 is too slow - takes ages to build a decent army.

I like regicide on AOK. Once I invaded with about 150 troops, and left with 20, but succeded in killing the king (The AI likes to hole up in castles, and they often have only one. What I like to do is have an AI ally, build a tunnel-like wall between the bases, then build a convoy of 20 or so trade carts. Then again, AOK has nearly infinite resources unlike Starcraft, so this really isn't important.
I love brute force... hence why I suck at Total War. Then again, I never really tried to effectively flank an enemy.

Yes, the cheats in the original AoE were cool. I also liked the nuke troopers, but kept losing them to conversion. Oddly, when an enemy
priest would convert my nuke troopers, they never attacked my colony.
Cool huh?
While we are on the subject, what is your fav combat unit from the original
game? I recall reading heated debates about the Compy archer (Composite) I liked them myself, they were cheap to make, and I always
liked having 10 or so of them all fire at once. They can finish off
handfuls of Hoplites and even most ships if they are close enough.
The car was cool too.
What does everybody else think?

I have aoc and aot (age of mythology: the titans expansion). AoC was the better of the two, AoM wasn't that bad but it's expansion pack really was and alienated a lot of the old players.

I like playing aroudn with Age of Mythology, but I can't get the editor to work right. I am doing something wrong. But other than that, I like that game.

Phalanx.

I usually used a core of phalanx backed up by umproved archers, slingers, and legionnaires(sp)
In AOE2 I like to use elite longbowmen and Champions.

Usually phalanx + heavy cavalry, with naval units offshore and siege weapons. I don't bother with archers when cavalry can quickly close the distance and kill all of them. Priests are very annoying though.

What was your fav wonder? In the original the Phoenecian wonder was my fav.

In AoE, I always built a fair number of priests, and made sure to pick a tech tree that included the ability to convert buildings and other priests. I usually ended up converting the other guy's priests, then his top units, then his buildings, then trashing his town centres.
I'm liking AoM at the moment, and although they're a bit of a handicap as far as infantry/archers go, I have an affinity for using the Norse mythos. That Kraken is just too useful a naval unit....

Just realized...I can't recall, is it possible to convert a farm and then harvest from it?

You don't need a priest to convert farms. Just send your villagers over to one and they're yours.

Not strictly on topic, but i've got some fond memories of custom campaigns in Empire Earth. Specifically one particular one where you had to defend the Eiffel Tower against enemy cavemen, using an army of mechs.
