Fable: A tale of evil.

B&W II has a thread going here, so I thought it would only be fair to hear what everyone thinks of
Fable: A tale of evil, another game by Peter Molyneux.
Personally, I think it looks fucking awesome.

Split Sokartawi's Xbox dislike into another thread.

Not possible in phpBB. Your split thread remains in G&C, however, I haven't HOSed it or anything.

Then I'll say "It's on the XBox, so you can't mod it, so it's not worth my time." again and you can delete the other thread.

I've been looking forward to this game since it was known as Project Ego. In fact, Fable is one of the reasons I bought an Xbox (the other being Halo).
After multiple delays (the initial release date has been pushed back almost a year, IIRC), it finally looks to be set for a mid-September release. I can't wait.

Giving out imperial commands to the moderators is not a particularly bright idea, just so you know. Nor is defying their decisions. But hey, its your neck.

If he doesn't like my behavour I think he can handle it perfectly well by himself over PM, I see no need to discuss this here with you, thank you.

Okay, we've all heard everyone's opinions on the XBox. Back to the original discussion of the game in question, for those who wish to discuss it.

Right... I was saying, I really looked forward to this game like a lot of other people. However, I always thought it would be released both on the PC as well as the XBox, and I hoped that like Morrowind, it would have an editor along with the game. I was very very disappointed that it was decided to (at least initially) be released on XBox only. Same thing happened to me with Jade Empire, I thought it was for PC as well...
A shame, since I really love customizable RPGs.

While modding game add fun to a game, after its been beaten and played to death, it is irrelevant to whether or not a game is fun in and of itself. Dismissing a game, espicailly one with this much potential, just because it isn't moddable is the height of arrogance. I sincerely doubt that that modders are that much more skilled or intelligent then people who do the very same task for a living.
So.... I repeat my original sentiment- Your being a pretenscious asshole.

I'll second that, and comment on-topic that Fable is going to kick copious amounts of ass.

Make that two moderators, If somone posts a topic about a game does not mean its suddenly becomes free for all to grip about everything from the game creator's personal life to whoever funded the game

Not interested, but it looks really cool anyway. That whole morality angle of the game sounds nifty.

I just hope it's a lot better than the light side/dark side stuff from KOTOR. For fuck's sake, telling someone you can't spare any credits because I'm fucking broke isn't evil!

Well in this case you have a bit more wiggle room.. not giving them the money would probably be neutral to lesser evil... beating them up and taking their cash or just killing them because they annoy you is probably what it takes to rack up an evil point.

I hope speaking sarcastically is neutral.

If Fable isn't announced for release on PC within 12-15 months of its release, I may just have to buy an X-Box. It looks really facinating and seems to have countless possible decisions that have relevant outcomes.
KotOR's light/dark morality was too inconsistent. I could freely kill people I probably should have negotiated with, or steal and generally be cruel/manipulative without any effect, get lightside points for just doing the most logical/personally beneficial actions, or darkside points for unintentional actions. I remember thinknig if this was based on the old D6 SW RPG, there'd be a lot of light/dark alignment changes from subtle but intentional actions that simply weren't used in the game.
West End Games' idea of SW morality was that going out of your way to make things right was righteous, and doing htings for personal gain at others' expense was evil. Silly D20.

I pre-ordered this game a few months ago just to help out an employee at Game Crazy (they had a pre-order sales contest), but I don't know anything about it other than that it's an RPG. I haven't played an RPG since KotOR, and I haven't played an old-fashioned sword-and-sorcery RPG since Baldur's Gate.
I'm not a fan of RPGs, but I'll give this one a go. It's good to hear that you guys are looking forward to it; I guess I should look into what it's going to be like (or just wait and be hopefully pleasantly surprised).

Modding: Uninteresting. 99% of it is crap, and the remaining 1% is usually half-finished or nearing completion for all eternity.
I gave up on waiting for the Tamriel Reborn project to finish. Maybe when I upgrade my computer and can play Morrowind with the view distance set at the maximum, maybe then they'll be done and I'll play it again.
But meh.
Yay Fable.

Actually, not true.
Modded xbox games requires a chipped 'box, but it's entirely possible. Witness the extra costume packs for games like Dead or Alive (Bayman as The Punisher? Jann Lee as Spidey? Aceness all round.), or the extra weapon, vehicle, and ability mods for Halo.

Thanks a lot; now I can't wait for this game. I've read all the stuff there is about it on the internet, looked at all the screenshots, etc. Anybody know a similar good game to play in the meantime (other than KotOR, which I've beaten too many times)?

I've heard Spider-man 2 is pretty good.

Beat it.
Don't worry, I'll figure something out.
