Look at the circled bit.

If you also notice, in the beginning of the game when gliding past the Pillar of Autumn, you can also see the Marathon sign painted on the armor. I will try to find a screenshot. Maybe the universes are connected in some odd way, but I don't see how one can make a story/game connecting the two.

Nothing new. Hasn't there already been assloads of speculation about the link between the two games? I recall some site out there that pointed out all of the similarities. I'll see if I can find it...

That's hilarious, I never realized that. Maybe Bungie just likes that symbol. It is a simple yet strong symbol, which looks pretty cool when painted on correctly.

Yes, but this is actual in-game proof, much more solid than the fact that they are in the right time periods, or the evolution of the weaponry is sound, or the UNSC/UESC thing, or the SPNKr name, or even Mjolnir cyborgs (sure, in Halo Mjolnir is the name of the armour, but the last computer screen in Marathon mentions them, maybe the terminology changed over the course of several centries).
