Alright, I found a used E-Reader. So I picked it up and decided to go ahead and get SMA4:SMB3. I even bought a booster pack of E-Cards to go with it. So I come home and pull all the stuff out. Here's the setup.
Gamecube with Gameboy Player attachment
SMA4:SMB3 Game cartridge
Gameboy Advance
E-Reader
GBA to Gamecube cable
I hook everything up. The E-Reader goes into the GBA. Then the cable plugs into the E-Reader and goes into controller jack II on the GC. SMB3 goes into the GBP. Now, when you go to the connectivity screen on the GBA it tries to connect but says there's an error. Same thing on the GC when you try to connect vice versa. I looked on Nintendo's website and there's nothing to help me there. I was wondering if anyone else out there was crazy enough to have any form of setup similar to this out there.
Also something I just thought of. In the E-Reader is the classic NES Golf game. Now, according to the website (I bought a used one, it's all you can find anymore so I have no original paperwork) it says the E-Reader can store ONE classic NES scancard game. I wonder if this is causing a problem and is taking up memory space that would be needed for the connection and scanning. Hmm, now to figure out how to erase the memory. Dun dun dun!!!
